Cath Lab Calibration, QA and Preventive Maintenance

CCL 115 is an intensive 3-credit course designed for technicians working with cardiovascular laboratory equipment. It focuses on the fundamental principles and practical application of quality assurance (QA) protocols for medical imaging systems, emphasizing dose management and image quality optimization. Students will learn the methodologies for calibrating fluid delivery systems, conducting comprehensive electrical safety inspections, and implementing robust preventive maintenance (PM) programs. The curriculum also delves into structured troubleshooting techniques for common equipment malfunctions and the critical importance of meticulous documentation for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Through a blend of theoretical instruction and hands-on laboratory exercises, participants will develop the competencies required to ensure the reliable and safe operation of complex cath lab technologies.
